Gboyega Nasir Isiaka Announces 2027 Ogun Governorship Bid

Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, a member of the House of Representatives and current chair of the National Planning and Economic Development Committee, has declared his intention to run for governor of Ogun State in the 2027 elections. Isiaka, who has previously contested for the governorship in 2011, 2015, and 2019 under different political platforms, expressed his commitment to the state’s political landscape.

He highlighted his recent efforts to secure a senatorial seat in Ogun West and his current role within the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he clinched the party's ticket for the Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency. In a media chat in Abeokuta, he asserted that his extensive political experience justifies his ambition to become the next governor, countering claims that he is merely seeking to push his candidacy based on personal interests.

Isiaka emphasized the need for collaboration within the political space and acknowledged President Bola Tinubu's influence on the political journey leading to the 2023 elections.
