Atiku's Aide Urges Opposition Unity After Court Ruling

Paul I.B., media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, called on opposition figures Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso to unite in light of a recent federal high court ruling in Lokoja that nullified the earlier judgment directing the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). I.B. described the court's decision as a significant signal for opposition leaders, warning that political developments ahead of the 2027 general elections should not be taken lightly.

He emphasized the urgency for opposition leaders to align their interests and build a stronger coalition to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The ruling, which reversed a previous judgment from December 10, 2025, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC, highlighting the need for the opposition to harmonize their strengths as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
