ADC and Atiku's Aide Call for Opposition Unity Post-Ruling

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, emphasized the need for unity among opposition political parties following a ruling by the Lokoja Federal High Court. The court set aside its earlier judgment that recognized the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), which was seen as an attempt to suppress opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Abdullahi stated that no opposition party is immune to attempts to shrink democratic space and that the opposition must stand together to confront what he described as a growing dictatorship. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's media adviser echoed this sentiment, urging the opposition to harmonize their strength ahead of the 2027 elections to dislodge Tinubu from power.

The court's decision was characterized as a wake-up call for the opposition, highlighting the need for a united front to defend democratic rights in Nigeria.
