Itsekiri Leaders Reject INEC's Faulty Delineation Report

Itsekiri leaders, represented by Sir Amorighoy Sunni Mene, have formally rejected the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) delineation report, which they claim is based on fraudulent data. The leaders assert that the proposed delineation of wards and polling units for the Warri Federal Constituency does not comply with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act of 2026.

They emphasize that the report, released on May 20, 2025, is flawed and does not reflect accurate demographic data. The Itsekiri leaders reference a Supreme Court judgment (suit no SC 143 2016) that mandates INEC to conduct a fresh delineation exercise in Warri South, Warri South West, and Warri North local government areas.

They express serious concerns about the integrity of the electoral process, citing that some polling units are located outside designated local government areas and even within non-habitable locations. The Itsekiri leaders have submitted formal objections to INEC and are calling for a thorough investigation into the delineation exercise.
