Nwifuru Claims No Opponent for Ebonyi Governorship Race

On September 13, 2026, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru stated that he faces no opposition in the 2027 governorship election, despite Chief Ifeanyi Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party contesting the position. Speaking at the new yam festival in Amagu, Nwifuru emphasized his administration's achievements, claiming victory in 10 out of 13 local government areas during the 2023 elections and predicting a clean sweep in 2027.

He assured the Izzi clan that no rival could take the governorship from them, attributing his confidence to the performance of his government, which he claimed has improved security and infrastructure, including over 100 km of road projects.
