Nwifuru Calls Ebonyi Elections Peaceful Democratic Exercise

On the day of the local government elections in Ebonyi State, Governor Francis Nwifuru characterized the event as a peaceful democratic exercise, urging that it should not be treated as a conflict. After casting his vote, he reassured the public that the process was about allowing citizens to select their leaders freely.

Nwifuru stated that the candidates were chosen by the people and their political parties, asserting that there was no need for security during such a democratic process. He expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, wishing for the party's victory in the elections.

Nwifuru acknowledged the significance of political opposition in democracy, stating that opponents can highlight governmental shortcomings. He clarified that he does not seek endorsements from other political parties for the 2027 general election, preferring the endorsement of the people of Ebonyi State.

Additionally, he cautioned against judging individuals based on their appearance, emphasizing that it does not reflect their character.
