NAFDAC Calls for Investment in Women and Children

Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), urged for greater investment in women and children to foster a healthier Nigeria during the agency's 2026 International Women's Day celebration held in Abuja. The event, themed "Give Gain," recognized the contributions of NAFDAC staff, particularly women, to public health.

Adeyeye highlighted the essential role women play in advancing public health outcomes and supporting broader national development goals. She emphasized the need to acknowledge women's resilience and contributions within institutions committed to safeguarding lives and regulating food and drug products.

Adeyeye also noted the inauguration of NAFDAC's maternal and newborn child health initiative in November 2025, reinforcing that investment in women and children is integral to Nigeria's development agenda. Joan Agbaagu, head of NAFDAC's reform unit, reiterated that the theme "Give Gain" reflects the value of selfless service and collective commitment to improving health for mothers, women, and children.
