Iwobi Set for 100th Cap with Nigeria Against Portugal

Alex Iwobi is preparing to achieve a significant milestone by earning his 100th cap for the Nigeria national football team, the Super Eagles, in an upcoming match against Portugal on Wednesday. Iwobi, a midfielder for Fulham, made his debut for Nigeria on October 8, 2015, during a friendly match against DR Congo in Belgium.

He has since become an important player, having played 99 times for the Super Eagles. Ademola Olajire, the Director of Communications for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), shared Iwobi's excitement about this achievement.

Iwobi expressed gratitude to Nigerian fans and stated he has no regrets about choosing to represent Nigeria. He feels proud to wear the green and white jersey and has enjoyed every moment of his ten years and eight months with the national team.

Iwobi also expressed a desire for the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
