Iyabo Obasanjo Rejoins PDP, Secures Ogun Central Senate Ticket

Iyabo Obasanjo has officially rejoined the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and has been awarded the Ogun Central Senate ticket for the upcoming 2027 elections. This announcement was made during a carnival event at the party's secretariat in Abeokuta, where Ogun State PDP Chairman Dr.

Abayomi Tella presented her with the party flag. Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, cited disrespect and unfair treatment from the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as reasons for her departure from the party.

She expressed her commitment to the ideals of the PDP and promised to prioritize the welfare of the people of Ogun State. Iyabo Obasanjo had previously registered as a member of the APC in January but resigned from the party last week, citing maltreatment.

She emphasized her intention to remain a candidate for the Senate and her dedication to serving the people.
