IYC Supports Tantita Security in Oil Theft Combat

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has called for sustained support for Tantita Security Services, led by Tompolo, in their efforts to combat oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta. In a press statement signed by spokesperson Binebia Princewill, the IYC warned against any attempts to undermine the progress achieved in pipeline security.

The council commended the federal government, under President Bola Tinubu, for its support in addressing the challenges of crude oil theft and pipeline sabotage, noting significant improvements in production levels and security of oil assets since Tantita's involvement. The IYC emphasized the importance of unity among Niger Delta leaders and stakeholders to ensure continued economic stability and peace in the region.

They also highlighted the employment opportunities created through Tantita's pipeline surveillance contract, urging the federal government to protect existing frameworks and resist pressures that could disrupt these efforts. The IYC reiterated that criticisms against Tantita do not represent the collective will of the Ijaw people.
