Diri's Leadership Praised for IYC Electoral Peace

Dr. Kingsley Kuku, the former Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, praised Senator Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa State, for his exemplary leadership in resolving the leadership crisis within the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC).

Kuku noted that Diri's efforts have ensured a peaceful electoral transition for the IYC, with elections scheduled for July 11, 2026. In a statement released by the IYC spokesman, Kuku expressed profound appreciation for Diri's commitment to unity among the Ijaw people, highlighting the successful reconciliation process that addressed differing interests within the organization.
