IYC President Calls for Museum to Honor King Ebizimor

Dr. Okotete, the President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), paid tribute to the late King Robert Ebizimor, an Ijaw music legend, during the annual remembrance anniversary.

He described Ebizimor as a significant cultural ambassador for the Ijaw Nation, highlighting his dedication to promoting the history and cultural heritage of the Izon people through music. Dr.

Okotete called for the establishment of a museum to preserve Ebizimor's philosophical works, musical archives, and cultural artifacts, arguing that this initiative would safeguard his legacy and enhance cultural education, tourism, and economic development in the Niger Delta. He drew parallels with the legacy of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, citing the New Afrika Shrine and Felabration festival as models for cultural preservation.

Dr. Okotete urged Ijaw people, traditional rulers, and stakeholders to support this initiative, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Ebizimor's teachings and values for future generations.
