LASU Tops 2026 JAMB Rankings with 84,426 Applications

The 2026 JAMB rankings reveal that Lagos State University (LASU) has become the most applied-to university in Nigeria, receiving 84,426 first-choice applications, which represents approximately 3.76% of total nationwide applications. This marks a significant rise for LASU, which was not even in the top 10 just four years ago.

Following LASU, the other top universities include the University of Lagos with 78,240 applications, Obafemi Awolowo University with 60,370 applications, the University of Ibadan with 58,895 applications, and the University of Benin with 55,425 applications. The increase in applications to LASU is attributed to its strategic location in Nigeria's commercial capital, providing students with direct exposure to various industries, startups, media houses, banks, tech firms, and entertainment companies.

This trend indicates a growing desire among students to connect with opportunities in Lagos.
