Jandor Denies Tinubu's Endorsement of Hamzat for Lagos 2027

Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, who was the former gubernatorial candidate for the People's Democratic Party in Lagos State, dismissed reports claiming that President Bola Tinubu has endorsed Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor, as the preferred candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Lagos governorship election. Jandor stated that neither the President has made any formal declaration of interest in Hamzat nor endorsed him.

He expressed this during an interview on Channels Television, where he pushed back against the notion that the race has already been decided in Hamzat's favor. Jandor maintained that the first people to know about any decision would be the aspirants themselves and reiterated that the APC has not indicated plans for a consensus arrangement, leaning instead towards direct primaries.

He also mentioned that he has met with President Tinubu, who neither discouraged his ambitions nor promised him the party's ticket. Jandor emphasized his commitment to the race, regardless of the eventual APC candidate.
