Jandor Withdraws from 2027 Lagos Governorship Race

Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, announced his withdrawal from the 2027 Lagos State governorship race during a meeting with journalists on Thursday. This decision comes as he aligns with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and endorses the current Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat.

Jandor's withdrawal is influenced by recent developments within the party, particularly the endorsement of Hamzat by President Bola Tinubu. He emphasized the necessity of this step to maintain unity within the APC as the elections approach.

Jandor urged party members to remain calm and avoid actions that could divide the party, reaffirming his loyalty and confidence in the APC's internal processes. He pledged to continue supporting President Tinubu and Hamzat, who have already secured backing from key party stakeholders, including the Governor's Advisory Council led by Tajudeen Olusi, further strengthening their position ahead of the 2027 race.
