Japan Enforces Stricter Student Visa Regulations

Japan has implemented stricter student visa regulations, demanding comprehensive documentation from international students. The process requires applicants to complete several stages, including obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) from recognized educational institutions.

Students must demonstrate financial support through bank statements and income records to cover tuition, accommodation, and living expenses during their stay. Once the CoE is issued, students must apply for a visa at the Japanese embassy or consulate in their home country, providing a passport, completed visa application form, passport-sized photographs, and any additional documents requested.

Upon arrival in Japan, students receive a residence card, known as a zairyu card, and must register their residential address within 14 days. The new regulations reflect Japan's structured approach to managing international student entry, emphasizing documentation and financial verification to ensure compliance with immigration requirements.
