Woman Severely Injures Boyfriend Over Jealousy in Kano

Maimunatu was arrested by the Kano State Police Command after she attacked her boyfriend with a knife, severing his private organ. This incident occurred after she learned of his intention to marry another woman.

Maimunatu had been in a six-year relationship with the victim, during which a wedding was once planned but later called off. She had accepted another marriage proposal but canceled it at the boyfriend's insistence not to marry anyone else, only for him to abandon her.

On the day of the incident, she met him at a hotel, where she discovered voice notes on his phone that upset her. In a fit of jealousy, she used a knife she had brought from home, claiming it was intended as a wedding gift.

After the attack, she attempted to clean the victim before hotel staff intervened. The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital, while Maimunatu remains in police custody.

The victim's family has called for justice, citing concerns about Maimunatu's suitability as a partner.
