Governor Namadi Celebrates Jigawa's 35th Anniversary

On August 27, 2023, Governor Umar A. Namadi delivered a special anniversary message marking the 35th anniversary of Jigawa State, which was created on August 27, 1991, by the Federal Military Government under General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.

The state was formed from the old Kano State, with Dutse as its capital. In his message, Namadi described the anniversary as a moment for thanksgiving, remembrance, and renewed commitment to development.

He honored the contributions of various leaders, including the pioneer Military Administrator Major-General Mueen Olayinka Sule and the first elected civilian governor Alhaji Ali Sa’ad Birnin-Kudu, among others. Namadi acknowledged the roles of legislators, judges, and community leaders in the state's growth and commended the resilience and unity of the Jigawa people.

He stated that honoring the founding fathers involves preserving ideals of peace, justice, and responsible leadership.
