Governor Namadi Celebrates Jigawa State's Anniversary

On the anniversary of Jigawa State, Governor Namadi emphasized the significance of the milestone as a time to celebrate the state's achievements and honor its founding fathers. Jigawa State was established on August 27, 1991, by the military administration of former Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, after separating from Kano State.

Governor Namadi expressed gratitude for the progress made since its creation and acknowledged the contributions of past leaders, including Major-General Olayinka Sule and former civilian governors Ali Sa’ad Birnin-Kudu, Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, Sule Lamido, and Muhammad Badaru Abubakar. He recognized the role of traditional institutions in promoting peace and community relations.

Namadi stated that the development of Jigawa over the past 35 years resulted from collective efforts, particularly from farmers, traders, and other citizens. He committed to prioritizing sustainable development, socioeconomic wellbeing, and investment in youth, urging the people to embrace unity and collective responsibility as the state progresses.
