ADC Demands Replacement of Nakudu Over ICPC Indictment

The Jigawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has petitioned for the immediate replacement of Senator Sabo Nakudu as the party's governorship candidate for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This request is based on allegations of an indictment by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) concerning the misappropriation of public funds, totaling N2.8 billion, related to various constituency projects.

The petition, presented by Abubakar Sani Ibrahim Maijamaa, a member of the ADC from the Gwaram Local Government chapter, emphasizes the potential damage Nakudu's indictment could cause to the party's reputation. The ICPC's report indicates that Nakudu, who represented the Jigawa South West Senatorial District from 2015 to 2023, was involved in the diversion of funds and the recovery of assets, including two Hilux trucks and hundreds of water pump machines.

The ADC aims to strengthen its position against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State, despite the challenges posed by Nakudu's alleged misconduct.
