APC Returns 18 Lawmakers, Introduces 11 New Candidates

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has adopted a consensus arrangement for the upcoming 2027 general elections, resulting in the return of 18 incumbent lawmakers and the emergence of 11 new candidates. This decision was confirmed by the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Dangyatim, during a press briefing following the party's primary elections held across the state's 30 constituencies.

Dangyatim stated that the consensus approach demonstrates the unity and strength of the APC in Jigawa State. Bashir Kundu, the APC public secretary in Jigawa State, also affirmed the candidates' nominations, which included a mix of returning lawmakers and new aspirants.

The exercise was conducted peacefully in accordance with the party's guidelines, aiming to prevent internal conflicts and consolidate the party's position ahead of the elections. The APC remains committed to delivering for the people of Jigawa State as they prepare for the electoral contest.
