Ado Kiri Resigns as Jigawa APC Pioneer Chairman

Ado Kiri, who served as the pioneer chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State, formally announced his resignation from the party in a letter dated March 30, 2026. The letter was addressed to the APC ward chairman of Kiri Ward, Malam Saliku Mujtapha, and made available to journalists on Friday.

Kiri, a former member of the House of Representatives representing Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency from 2019 to 2023, expressed gratitude for the opportunities he had during his time with the party and acknowledged his contributions to its growth and political development. His resignation has generated significant reactions within the political circles of Jigawa State, especially considering his previous influence in strengthening the APC's structure in the state and his role in the 2015 general elections.

However, Kiri's resignation letter did not indicate any plans to join another political party, leading to speculation about his future political direction. Attempts to reach him for further clarification were unsuccessful.
