Cleric Urges Mothers to Instill Moral Values in Children

During a public lecture held on Monday, which was part of the seventh series of Ramadan lectures, renowned Jigawa-based Islamic cleric Ladidi Abdullah emphasized the critical role of mothers in nurturing children with patience and instilling moral values. The event was organized by the Jigawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at their secretariat in Dutsinma.

Abdullah referenced various Qur'anic verses and Hadiths, highlighting that mothers are the first teachers of their children and have a profound influence on their character and behavior. She urged mothers to prioritize their children's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs while reinforcing moral guidance central to Islam.

Abdullah lamented the increasing moral decay in society, attributing it partly to the decline in proper parental guidance. She encouraged mothers to adopt grassroots approaches in teaching good values and ensuring that religious and moral lessons are embedded in daily life.

The lecture concluded with a live question-and-answer session, primarily attended by women and journalists.
