Father Cancels Wedding Over Groom's Political Support

In Jigawa State, a father, Malam Muhammadu Sani, reportedly canceled his daughter's wedding over the groom's support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). This claim went viral on social media, prompting a strong reaction from the community.

However, the ward head, Malam Ahmad Garba, dismissed the allegations as false and malicious, stating that no one could confirm the incident despite thorough investigations. Garba emphasized that the story was fabricated to tarnish the community's image.

Malam Muhammadu Sani also denied the allegations, stating he does not use social media and was unaware of any such report. He confirmed that the marriage took place as planned, following Fulani customs, and involved his daughter's maternal cousin.

The chairman of the Yalwawa Development Association, Umar Kazaur, suggested that the father's reaction might have been influenced by the current economic situation rather than political reasons. The groom's identity remains unclear, and the incident has sparked a wider debate about misinformation in the community.
