Jigawa NNPP Leader Aminu Ringim Resigns from Party

Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Jigawa State, has officially resigned from the party, with his resignation taking immediate effect as of March 30, 2026. In his resignation letter addressed to the chairman of the NNPP in Ringim Ward, he noted that the decision was made after careful reflection and consultation, although he did not specify his next political destination.

Ringim expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation he received from party leaders and members during his tenure, highlighting the valuable relationships built over time. He previously served as the gubernatorial candidate for the NNPP in the 2023 general elections.

His resignation adds to the growing list of political realignments in Jigawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections, and there are indications that he may join his political mentor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who has recently aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
