Jigawa NNPP Leader Ringim Joins ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

On April 25, 2026, Ringim, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Jigawa State, officially announced his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during a membership registration event in his local government area. The event attracted a large crowd, showcasing significant support for his decision.

Ringim cited the necessity for collaboration among politicians to tackle Nigeria's pressing issues, including insecurity, inflation, hunger, and unemployment. He called for unity among opposition forces to rescue Nigeria from the current administration's challenges.

Ringim urged residents of Jigawa State to register with the ADC, highlighting that 15 million Nigerians are already registered with the party, with a target of an additional 30 million nationwide before the 2027 elections. He dismissed claims of disintegration within the ADC, asserting that the party's leadership is committed to remaining united and rallying behind the chosen candidate for the primaries.

Ringim previously contested for the Jigawa State governorship in 2015 and again in 2023 under the NNPP platform.
