Jigawa State Warns Against Fees for Renewed Hope Registration

The Jigawa State Government has issued a warning to the public regarding the registration for the Renewed Hope programme, which is set to launch in February 2024 under President Bola Tinubu's administration. The programme aims to support vulnerable citizens and stimulate economic growth by targeting low and middle-income earners across Nigeria.

Sagir Musa, the state commissioner for information, youth, sports, and culture, stated that registration for the programme is completely free and that no payments should be made. However, reports have surfaced of individuals demanding N500 from those seeking to register, which is against the programme's guidelines.

The government has urged the public to report any such demands, emphasizing that any individual found collecting money for registration will face consequences. The initiative aims to empower 8.8 million Nigerians through job creation, rural electrification, agriculture, and small business development, ensuring that the benefits reach the intended recipients without financial burdens.
