Jigawa Women Praise DSS for Handling Walida's Case

Women in Jigawa State organized a solidarity march to commend the Department of State Services (DSS) for its handling of the case involving Walida Abdulhadi, a 22-year-old victim of a serious incident. The march took place on a Thursday, with hundreds of women chanting supportive songs and carrying banners expressing gratitude to the DSS.

Key figures in the march included Aisha Shamshudeen, Balaraba Aliyu, and Salma Abdullahi, who emphasized the importance of the DSS's professional approach. They expressed hope that the case would remain free from political interference.

Abubakar Babangida, speaking on behalf of the Hadejia Advocacy Movement, noted the need for proper therapy for Walida and highlighted the importance of protecting young girls. The DSS Director General, Tosin Ajayi, assured that Walida's welfare would be a top priority during the ongoing investigation.

The case is seen as a test for gender rights in the region, with various stakeholders involved in the process.
