Jigawa Protesters Demand Justice for Walida's Abduction

On a recent date, protesters in Hadejia, Jigawa State, rallied under the banner of "Justice for Walida," expressing their displeasure over the alleged abduction and sexual exploitation of Walida, who was reportedly born in 2008 and is currently 18 years old. The protest was organized by Dr.

Hussaini Shehu, who emphasized the community's demand for accountability from the Department of State Services (DSS) and other involved parties. Barrister Kabiru Adamu, part of Walida's legal team, criticized the Women Affairs Ministry for allegedly distorting facts about Walida's case, particularly regarding her age at the time of abduction on February 25, 2025.

The protesters submitted a formal petition to the Hadejia Emir Council, represented by Alhaji Dr. Adamu Abubakar Maje, urging appropriate actions to be taken.

Governor Umar Namadi has taken custody of Walida, who was allegedly abducted in Hadejia and later found in Abuja. The protest reflects a broader demand for justice and accountability in cases of sexual exploitation.
