Jonathan Commissions 49.7km Roads and Parks in Bauchi

On Monday, former President Goodluck Jonathan commissioned 18 township roads totaling 49.7 kilometers in Bauchi metropolis, commending the investment as a reflection of purposeful governance under Governor Bala Mohammed. Jonathan stated that roads are vital for development, connecting communities and promoting economic growth.

He urged residents to protect the new infrastructure, which he described as investments in their future. Additionally, Jonathan performed the groundbreaking ceremony for four major recreational parks in Bauchi, valued at N4.68 billion, including the Golden Jubilee Park and General Hassan Usman Katsina Park.

The Bauchi State Government announced that these projects are expected to be completed within 12 months, with 70 percent of the payment already made to contractors. Governor Bala Mohammed noted that the roads were designed to link key areas and enhance mobility, economic activity, and job creation, as part of his administration’s urban renewal and environmental sustainability program.
