Wike Commits to Complete Goodluck Jonathan Way by December

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced his commitment to completing the Inner Southern Expressway, also known as Goodluck Jonathan Way, by December 2023. This road project, which spans 10 kilometers and includes five bridges, was awarded in December 2014 but has remained abandoned for 12 years.

During an inspection in Abuja, Wike stated that the contractor is expected to finish the remaining six kilometers of the road, contingent on the availability of funds. He highlighted the road's significance in transforming the landscape of the FCT and mentioned ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Finance to secure the necessary funding.

Wike also noted that the Apo-Karshi Road, awarded in 2010, is nearing completion. He reiterated the administration's goal to fulfill President Bola Tinubu's promise to complete all projects initiated by previous administrations from 2010 to 2023, thereby reducing the number of abandoned projects.
