Jonathan Launches ₦4.68bn Recreational Parks in Bauchi

On Monday, former President Goodluck Jonathan conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction and modernization of four major recreational parks in Bauchi metropolis, with a total value of ₦4.68 billion. The parks include the Golden Jubilee Park, General Hassan Usman Katsina Park, Shehu Azare Park, and Suleiman Adamu Park.

These projects are intended to provide relaxation and recreational spaces for residents and visitors, as Bauchi has become one of the fastest-growing cities in the North-East subregion. Jonathan praised the Bauchi State Government for its investment in recreational infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of public parks in urban planning.

He urged residents to take ownership of the parks post-completion. Bauchi State Governor Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed stated that the projects would be completed within 12 months, with 70% of the payment already made to contractors.

The initiative is part of the administration’s urban renewal and environmental sustainability program, aimed at enhancing community interaction and well-being.
