Jonathan Meets ADC Aspirant Hayatu-Deen in Abuja

On a Friday, Goodluck Jonathan, former President of Nigeria, hosted Moham Hayatu-Deen, a presidential aspirant from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Abuja. The meeting focused on Nigeria's political climate and outlook for the 2027 general elections.

According to a statement from Hayatu-Deen's media office, the discussions reflected a long-standing professional relationship dating back to Jonathan's tenure as governor. Hayatu-Deen previously served as the Chairman of the National Council on Privatization and as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises during Jonathan's administration as Vice President.

During the visit, Hayatu-Deen formally briefed Jonathan about his intention to contest for the presidency in the upcoming elections, having obtained his presidential nomination form from the ADC. He praised Jonathan for his contributions to strengthening democratic governance and improving electoral credibility in Africa.

Hayatu-Deen's team highlighted his extensive experience as an economist and banker, emphasizing campaign focuses on tackling insecurity, reducing inflation, and improving job creation.
