The Plateau Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA) shut down an illegal abattoir in Jos, Plateau State, for unhygienic practices that pose a risk to public health. The Director General, Samuel Nathaniel, issued the closure order after an inspection revealed the abattoir's lack of basic infrastructure, poor waste management, and contamination of surfaces and groundwater.
