Muslim Survivor Saved by Christian During Plateau Violence

In a recent violent incident in Angwan Rukuba, Plateau State, Nigeria, a Muslim trader named Idu Murtala described how a Christian man risked his life to protect him. The violence, which targeted Christian worshippers, resulted in at least 28 fatalities and numerous injuries.

Murtala was with a friend when gunfire erupted, causing panic among residents. Amid the chaos, a Christian man, whose identity remains undisclosed, took Murtala into his home and hid him in his wife’s bedroom to shield him from a mob.

The host not only provided shelter but also food and contacted Murtala's family to inform them of his safety. After ensuring the situation calmed, the host coordinated with security personnel to safely evacuate Murtala.

In contrast, another resident, Ngo Kanyang Pam, tragically lost her 32-year-old son, Jude Pam, during the unrest, highlighting the severe impact of the violence on the community.
