Jos DisCo Begins Free Installation Of Prepaid Meters For Band A Customers

Jos Electricity Distribution Company (DisCo) has launched a free meter installation program called DISREP to enhance service delivery and address the metering gap in Plateau, Bauchi, Benue, and Gombe states. The initiative will start as a pilot phase in Plateau State, focusing on providing prepaid meters free of charge to existing unmetered customers and replacing faulty meters on Band feeders.

Customers are advised to cooperate with staff during the installation process, as the new meters feature advanced technology for efficiency and security. Additionally, customers who clear their total debt in full will receive a 30% discount, while those who opt for installment repayment within three months will get a 25% discount.

The company emphasized that the meters are completely free, and customers should not make any payments to staff or agents during installation.
