Governor Mutfwang Surprised by Recent Jos Attack

In an interview with Arise Television, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang reacted to a recent attack in the Jos South Local Government Area, stating that it came as a surprise given the region's attainment of peace over the past 10 to 11 months. He highlighted that Jos had been regarded as one of the safest cities in Northern Nigeria, and the attack was unexpected, indicating a lack of provocation that could have led to such violence.

Mutfwang noted that the community had taken the peace for granted, which contributed to their unpreparedness for the attack. He emphasized the necessity for the community to re-energize and become more aware and prepared for similar events in the future, calling for steps to enhance vigilance and intelligence gathering to fill the response gaps that have been noticed.
