Tarka University Bans 'Signing Out', Seeks Stakeholder Support

Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University in Makurdi has reinforced the ban on the practice of "signing out" by students, calling on stakeholders to support its enforcement. The university Senate outlawed the practice on February 15, 2025, due to its disruptive and undignified nature.

The Registrar, John David, emphasized the importance of upholding the university's values and culture, warning students of disciplinary measures for non-compliance. The university aims to ensure that students graduate with dignity and decorum, discouraging activities that tarnish their reputation.

Staff and security personnel have been directed to enforce the ban effectively across the institution.
