David Mark Launches 2027 Presidential Bid at ADC Convention

On Tuesday in Abuja, David Mark, the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), announced the beginning of his journey towards the 2027 presidential elections during the party's convention. Mark, a former Senate President, expressed confidence in the ADC's future, highlighting the party's organizational strength compared to the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The convention culminated in an overwhelming vote to amend the party's constitution, with 1,471 out of 1,576 accredited delegates voting in favor, representing 94% of the total votes cast. Ihedioha confirmed the voting process's legitimacy, while Olumid Apata led the legal committee overseeing the convention.

Key resolutions adopted included waiving membership requirements and suspending rules regarding vacant offices. The convention also resulted in the dissolution of the national work committee, allowing David Mark to assume full control of the party's affairs.
