Kaduna State recorded its first rain of the year on Thursday at 10 PM, providing a welcome respite from an intense heat wave that had affected residents. The rainfall was accompanied by heavy winds, which contributed to a sense of jubilation among the populace.

This weather change came at a time when both Christian and Muslim communities were grappling with high humidity levels during their respective fasting periods. Mallam Yusuf Dan Musa commented to Daily Post that the rain reduced the amount of water intake required by residents, highlighting the impact of the heat on daily life.

The rain's arrival was particularly significant as it coincided with the ongoing Ramadan fast for Muslims, which is set to last for two weeks, and the Easter period for Christians, marking the end of their fasting. The community's relief was palpable as they welcomed the rain after enduring excessive heat.
