Ugochinyere Expands Electricity Initiative in Imo Communities

Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, the federal lawmaker representing Ideato Constituency, has extended his Operation Light Up Ideato programme to three more communities: Ogwume, Dikenafai, and Akpulu. This phase includes the installation of 500KVA transformers and essential electrical infrastructure.

While the work in Akpulu is complete, installations in Ogwume and Dikenafai are ongoing. As of September 5, the total number of communities served under this initiative has increased to seven, following earlier installations in Umuopia, Obodoukwu, Abukwa, and Umukegwu.

Ugochinyere's media office stated that the programme reflects his commitment to addressing critical infrastructure needs and ensuring that communities with inadequate electricity are not overlooked. The initiative is designed as a continuous effort, with plans for more transformers in additional identified communities.

Ugochinyere, who chairs the House Committee on Downstream Petroleum, aims to close the power availability gap across Ideato North and South.
