PDP's Toyin Amuzu Calls for Accountability Amid Insecurity

On June 12, Toyin Amuzu, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, expressed deep concern over the escalating insecurity in Nigeria. He described the situation as tragic, noting that human lives appear to have lost value in the country.

Amuzu lamented the frequent killings, kidnappings, and violent attacks, stating that development is impossible in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. He urged Nigerians to maintain faith in democracy and actively demand transparency and accountability from their leaders.

Amuzu also paid tribute to Chief MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, calling him a martyr for democracy whose sacrifices should not be forgotten. He emphasized that the primary responsibility of the government is to protect lives and property and that citizens must remain vigilant in defending their rights and demanding better governance.
