El-Rufai Calls Ekiti Election a Formailty Ahead of June 20

On June 20, the Ekiti State governorship election is anticipated to be a mere formality, according to Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. He made this statement upon arriving at Ado Ekiti Airport ahead of the official flag-off of the APC governorship campaign.

El-Rufai, who serves as the chairman of the Ekiti State Governorship Campaign Council, noted that the outcome of the election would reflect the level of acceptance of the APC under President Bola Tinubu. He highlighted that a total of 13 political parties are expected to participate in the election.

El-Rufai expressed confidence in the incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, stating that he has secured goodwill from the electorate due to his visible achievements in infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, and human capital development. The governor described Oyebanji's strides as a positive indicator for a resounding victory in the upcoming election, which he views as a political barometer for the APC's future electoral contests.
