80 Worshippers Return Home After Kaduna Church Attack Amid Heightened Tensions

Following a bandit attack on a church in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, 80 worshippers who initially fled have now returned home after spending close to two weeks in a neighboring village. The village head, Ishaku Dan Azumi, confirmed their return in a telephone interview.

While initial reports suggested that 177 worshippers were abducted during the attack, it was later confirmed that 80 managed to escape and seek refuge in a nearby community. Security sources have indicated an increase in military operations targeting bandit hideouts in the Kajuru area.

The region experienced further violence when bandits attacked the Maikori community in Maro ward, resulting in the deaths of three residents. This incident has led to heightened tensions in the area, with calls for stronger security measures and urgent government intervention to address the ongoing security challenges.
