APC's Christoph Maikalangu Wins AMAC Chairmanship Election

Christoph Maikalangu, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared the winner of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that Maikalangu received 40,295 votes out of a total of 62,861 valid votes cast.

His closest competitor, Prof. Andrew Abu from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), garnered 12,109 votes, while the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate received 3,398 votes.

The total number of votes cast in the election was 65,197, with 2,336 votes rejected. The number of registered voters in AMAC was reported to be 837,338, with 65,676 voters accredited for the election.

A total of 15 political parties contested in the election, with the APC's Maikalangu meeting all legal requirements to be declared the winner.
