Bandits Behead Oyo Teacher, Raising Safety Concerns

Michael Oyedokun, a mathematics teacher at a community high school in Ahoru, Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, was beheaded by bandits, as shown in a video released on Sunday. The incident has sparked fresh concerns regarding safety in the region.

Governor Seyi Makinde, through his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, extended condolences to Oyedokun's family and assured that the government is exploring both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to rescue other kidnapped individuals.

Six suspects related to the kidnapping have been arrested, with the government urging patience from the public as they work to reunite victims with their families. The incident occurred following a failed kidnapping attempt on May 15, which resulted in the abduction of the principal and several students.

The Oyo State government has pledged to spare no cost in ensuring the safety of its citizens.
