Terrorists Behead Oyo Teacher, Spark Security Concerns

Michael Oyedokun, a teacher from Ahoru Esinlori in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, was reportedly beheaded by his captors after being abducted. A video of the incident was released, showing Oyedokun being forced to speak before his death, which has sparked renewed fears for the safety of others held captive.

Local community leaders have called on security agencies and the Oyo State government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, to intensify efforts to rescue the remaining victims. Special Adviser on Media, Dr.

Suleimon Olanrewaju, confirmed the incident and expressed sympathy for Oyedokun's family, assuring that the government would employ both kinetic and non-kinetic measures for the release of the remaining victims. Six suspects linked to the abduction have been arrested, with three individuals believed to be logistical suppliers for the terrorists.

The incident has raised significant concerns about security in Oyo State, particularly following the recent invasion of a school on May 15, which resulted in the abduction of several teachers and students.
