Tinubu Condemns Killing of Oyo Teacher, Promises Action

President Bola Tinubu condemned the killing of an abducted teacher in the Esiel community of Oyo State, describing the act as barbaric. He assured that security forces are working around the clock to apprehend the bandits responsible and rescue the victims.

The incident occurred when gunmen invaded the community, abducting staff and students from the Baptist Nursery and Primary School. Tinubu expressed sympathy for Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State, promising federal collaboration to ensure the safe return of the victims.

Makinde confirmed that seven students and seven teachers were kidnapped during the attack. He emphasized the need for a state police force to enhance security and prevent such incidents.

The governor also mentioned that two surveillance aircraft have been procured to monitor the borders with Kwara State and the Republic of Benin. He urged residents to report any suspicious activities to security agencies to aid in the ongoing operations.
