Dangote Refinery Raises Petrol Price, Suspends Supply

Dangote Refinery has announced a hike in the price of petrol, raising the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N275 per litre, with coastal supply prices adjusted to N215 per litre. This decision has led to the suspension of supply operations, halting the proforma invoicing process and disrupting normal transaction flows within the loading system.

The suspension, effective from 4:00 PM on Tuesday, has caused significant anxiety across distribution channels, as oil trucks were reportedly left stranded while waiting to load. The increase in petrol prices and the suspension of supply operations are expected to create ripples across the country’s fuel market, affecting consumers and the downstream sector.

Senior officials have confirmed the adjustments, which have already begun to influence market activities, putting to rest earlier uncertainties regarding depot pricing.
