Former Military Spokesman and Wife Abducted in Katsina

Major General Rabe Abubakar, a retired military officer and former Director of Defence Information from August 2015 until 2017, was kidnapped alongside his wife in Katsina State on a Saturday afternoon. The abduction took place in the Matazu Local Government Area while they were traveling to Katsina town.

During the incident, the couple's driver managed to escape but sustained serious gunshot injuries. The vehicle involved, a red Peugeot 504, was left behind at the scene of the attack.

Brigadier General Sagir Musa, also retired, shared details about the incident, and the Nigerian Police Force has since recovered the abandoned vehicle. As of the time of reporting, neither the Katsina State Police Command nor the Defence Headquarters had released an official statement regarding the kidnapping or any rescue operations.
